~Mead Ingredients~

At its most basic level, mead is made from honey, water and yeast. Because honey is typically poor in the nutrients yeast needs for healthy growth and fermentation, additives such as yeast nutrient are often recommended. Old West has put together a basic mead ingredient kit that contains all the honey, yeast and additives needed to make a very tasty mead. The addition of fruits, spices and other ingredients can turn a simple mead into a metheglin, melomel, cyser, pyment or hippocras. (Really!)
